BUSINESS EMPOWERMENT CIRCLE (BEC) 2022

FOUNDATIONS FOR BUILDING A KINGDOM BUSINESS

“For the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true.” (Ephesians 5:9)

The goal of Christian entrepreneurs should be to build a business that seeks to honor God while serving people, and changing lives, whatever the core activities of the business happens to be. To fulfill this mission, you must focus on your business’s culture, values, and practices, because they are what defines your business.

A business that seeks to glorify God and impact lives positively must be founded on Kingdom principles. The business practices must reflect the teachings of Christ because that’s what sets your business apart.

Also, your company’s culture must promote beliefs and behaviors that are pleasing and acceptable to God. The same goes for your business values. Christian business values should be at the core of your business if you’re committed to building a biblical business.

This module focuses on the following issues:

1) HOW DO I ESTABLISH A KINGDOM BUSINESS?
A Kingdom Business is an enterprising entity that is subject to and operates under the governance, ordinances and principles of God. It is a business in which God’s nature and characteristics are intrinsically infused into the structure of the entrepreneurship venture.

2) WHO OWNS THE BUSINESS?
You may be the registered owner of the business, but do you really own the business or are you only the manager? The answer to this question has serious implications on how we make decisions for the business.

3) WHAT ARE YOUR BUSINESS VALUES?
The values of a business are intended to govern how a business operates and deals with its stakeholders – customers, vendors, employees, shareholders, communities, etc. The values help determine priorities and how we manage the business.

4) WHAT KIND OF LEADER AM I?
God is looking for a different kind of leader. Not one who relies on his own abilities, education, experience, hard work, and charisma. He isn’t looking for one who is simply trying to build a highly profitable business. He is searching for leaders whose hearts are completely surrendered; those who are fully committed to building a Kingdom business and who will lead and serve His people. Are you such a leader?

5) IS OUR BUSINESS A BUSINESS OR IS IT A MINISTRY?
We know that we are called to be salt and light to the world. But is our business just work and our ministry only something we do on Sunday or at some volunteer organization? Do you know you are called to be a King and a Priest?

6) HOW DO I DEFINE SUCCESS?
How we define success will also define our relationship with God. Is your definition of success limited to financial success and are you able to look beyond that to see significance?

7) DO I REALLY REAP WHAT I SOW?
God’s Kingdom operates on the principle of sowing and reaping. Unless a seed is sown, it has no power to reproduce. What we sow becomes a seed in the soil of heaven and will inevitably return to us as a bountiful harvest. Learning how to steward our lives will lead to a transformation of the marketplace and workplace, and will also enrich our own lives in many ways. Are you ready to start sowing?

8) WHERE IS GOD WHEN I NEED HIM?
In challenging times such as these, we need to remind ourselves that God has equipped us to overcome such difficulties and rise to the top. How to we exercise faith and trust God in circumstances that are beyond our control and to know that He is in control?

Is your business a Kingdom business or is it a regular business that is owned by a Christian? What is your company’s culture? Can people tell there’s something different about your business or would they be surprised to hear yours is a Christian business? This module will help you shape your business into a Kingdom enterprise.

About The Business Empowerment Circle (BEC)

The BEC platform involves business owners and professionals in the marketplace. We face the same issues at work and the same struggles to be Kingdom minded in business. We meet in small groups at the designated locations or online on a monthly basis to discuss each of the above topics.

The small group discussion is not a teaching session, but is designed to promote peer to peer learning with a facilitator to keep the discussion relevant and impactful. Each session is expected to last 1.5 to 2 hours.
